‘Send To’ not visible in right click menu

0

Sometimes after a fresh installation of Windows and specifically Windows XP 64 (SP2) the ‘Send to’ menu does not appear when you right click a file.

The solution is quite simple and involves only one change in registry.

1. Click Start, and then click Run.
2. In the Open box, type regedit, and then click OK.
3. Locate and then click the following registry subkey: HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\AllFilesystemObjects\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers
4. Now right click ‘ContextMenuHandlers’ and add a new key and rename it to ‘Send To’
5. Now double click on ‘Default’ in the right hand pane and add “7BA4C740-9E81-11CF-99D3-00AA004AE837” (without quotes) as value.
6. Close the regedit and you’re done

Another tweak on how to add items to right click > send to menu is
1.
Click Start, and then click Run.

2.
In the Open box, type sendto, and then click OK.

3.
Right click in the open window and go to New > Shortcut, and browse to what you want to add to ‘Send to’ and that’s it.
