What system analysis is NOT

Systems analysis sounds as if it should be rocket science. To understand what systems analysis is all about, it is better to start by saying what it is not. It is not synonymous with modeling. It does not only involve classifying systems or discovering properties common to categories of system. It is not something used to discover the nature of social or environmental ills. It is not just a branch of applied mathematics. It is also not a science, although science and technology are its cornerstone.
