Unit – I
Meaning, Scope, Importance and Limitations of Financial Management, Functions of chief financial officer (CFO), financial analysis: financial statements, income statement and Balance sheet. Techniques of financial analysis. Ratio analysis: Advantages, Significance and limitations, Liquidity Ratios, Activity Ratio and profitability Ratio.
Unit – II
Funds flow analysis: A theoretical aspect of sources and uses of funds, Preparation of statement of changes in working capital and statement of sources and uses of funds. Cash flow analysis: preparation of cash flow statement. Difference between funds flow statement and cash flow statement.
Unit – III
An introduction of study of Financial planning and forecasting, Working capital management – concepts, types, determinants and estimation of Working capital. Cost volume profit analysis.
Unit – IV
Receivables and inventory management, treasury management: meaning and functions of treasury department. Recent development in treasury management.
Unit – V

Elementary study of capital budgeting including methods of evaluating capital expenditure proposals under certainty. Dividend policy: meaning, forms of dividend, essentials of sound dividend policy.
